Date1885Reference Number2006.0201DescriptionPortrait photograph of an unknown woman in a black and gold wooden frame. 22/12/2010 - When opened for cleaning it was found the photograph is sealed onto the matboard with a half of a page from a magazine, in the same manner as 2006.0203. Although this section is the bottom of the page and therefore the title cannot be seen, it appears to be from the same magazine, The Builder, dated 19 December, 1885. This would date the framing of this picture to this time, and suggests the shortage of materials that craftsmen had to work with..
