In 2015 retiree Rodney Giddens undertook to provide a photographic record of shop fronts from the roadside of Tauranga’s CBD. Roadside photograph from Cameron Road near Hamilton Street. Various signs can be made out, including “Workbridge Mahiri”.
Now (2021) this building on the north east corner of Hamilton Street and Cameron Road is incorporated into the Durham Court Motor Inn to which it was formerly an adjacent building on the site of the Durham Redoubt built in the 1860s. The land was later quarried for spoil for the railway reclamation in the early 1900s.
