In 2015 retiree Rodney Giddens undertook to provide a photographic record of shop fronts from the roadside of Tauranga’s CBD. Various signs can be made out, including “Minuteman”, “City Mart”, “New Zealand Immigration Specialists”.
Dagley's Building on south east corner of Willow & Spring Street was erected in 1925 for its owner who was a draper, mercer and milliner. Father of well known Tauranga artist Arthur Dagley. The builder was Karl Johansen who built Royal Arcade in Devonport Road in a similar style. Was also known as Dominion Building at one time. Demolished in 2019. Completely new building constructed with ground floor retail and second level offices.
