Two black and white photographs of Tauranga Mayoress, Mrs Mitchell, being presented with a gold chain of office. Presented to Mayoress on behalf of the women of Tauranga by NCW president Mrs J. A. Gresham.

"The Māori people and their problems" by John Te Heuheu, published in "Woman's viewpoint" (1965, September, pp. 6, 7, 12). The article is a copy of the address given to the Conference of the Dominion Federation of Country Women's Institutes. and discusses issues including education statistics for Māori, problem of racial intolerance, Māori urbanisation and employment statistics for Māori in rural areas.
