Lily Koltun, the adjudicator and curator of the Portrait Gallery of Canada, described Denise as having, "exquisite control of her medium". Denise has participated in the Tauranga Garden and Art Festival, the Bethlehem College Art Exhibition, the Wai-Art Awards in 2009 and is a Member of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wellington. As an invited artist she took part in the Wellington 'Art In Action' weekend in 2008 where the public are invited to visit and interact with artists at work.
