DescriptionIn 2011 Maungatapu School's Room 13 (year's 2 & 3) wrote poetry in reaction to the Rena disaster. The poetry and posters appeared in a window display at Tauranga City Library.

The elephant sized ship, leaking its fatal contents.
Holding on for dear life, the oceans treasures are slowly dying.
Everybody is devastated about the accident.

Rotten poisoned fish get dragged like a ragdoll onto shore.
Eeek! Eeek! birds screech in horror as oil overtakes them.
Nutritious water getting infected like blood poisoning.
Angry locals seeking more.
