The Rena Poem by Izayah Brott (Maungatapu School)

DescriptionIn 2011 Maungatapu School's Room 13 (year's 2 & 3) wrote poetry in reaction to the Rena disaster. The poetry and posters appeared in a window display at Tauranga City Library.

Our yum sea food getting wiped out by that
Unhealthy oil turning it in to a pitch black sea.
Our penguins suffering just like our seas and

Fish covered thick disgusting oil.
Some people save our penguins and other
Animals that's just cool, and they should have
A happy life.
Locals watch in sadness their heart is beating
Faster than a machine gun.People are waiting for that tense moment to come write and it will change all back to how it was.
