The Rena by Mercedes (Maungatapu School)

DescriptionIn 2011 Maungatapu School's Room 13 (year's 2 & 3) wrote poetry in reaction to the Rena disaster. The poetry and posters appeared in a window display at Tauranga City Library.

The Rena
The oil is sticky and slimy
It is black too
The ship is nearly a quarter under the dirty and deep sea.
The oily birds are going to die.
There are deer skins on the beach.
The beach isn't clean anymore.
I feel sad.
