The Nihoniho or teeth pattern is used here to show the many branches of the Māori Women's Welfare League across Aotearoa. In this instance, the white pattern in the centre, pertains to the Tainui region, and the yellow pattern on both sides, depicts the many peka (branches) in this region, of which the Matua Māori Women’s Welfare League in Tauranga, is one.
