DescriptionPhotograph from a trip to see the unveiling of the Bomber Command Association (BCA) memorial (which was built in the Green Park in London, and unveiled on the 28th of June 2012 by Queen Elizabeth II) and to visit the the Mepal memorial marker to No. 75(NZ) Squadron just outside the town of Mepal, in Cambridgshire... nearly 3 hrs drive from the London BCA memorial._x000D_
Mepal commemoration. Written on the plaque is ”Former site of Royal Force Mepal Home of No. 75 (New Zealand) Squadron No. 3 Group. Bomber Command. 19431945'. The accuracy of this is disputed by veteran of the squadron Glen Turner (75Squadron NZ Association Secretary), who noted that "this was not an RNZAF squadron, it was an RAF Squadron with LOTS of NZers assigned to it...and the Bomber Command crews flew Operations.. they did not fly Missions".
