Janice Giles has been a counsellor for many years and often creates works that reflect her consideration of what it means to be human and how we process our experiences.

&nbsp; <img style="font-size: 12.16px; line-height: 1.3;" src="http://images.sunlive.co.nz/images/110111-pete-morris-blog-Janice-Giles.jpg" alt="" width="468" height="220"> Janice Giles. &ldquo;Each person treads their own unique path, and each personal life map is different,&rdquo; says Janice, &ldquo;however, the territories of experience and development tend to echo universal themes that can be navigated.&rdquo; Paintings in Janice&rsquo;s pending solo exhibition at Creative Tauranga Community Gallery, &lsquo;A Brush with Meaning&rsquo;, include evocative images that invite the viewer to reflect on what the works mean for them, and to consider the potential of dialogue and an evolving relationships with the works.&nbsp; Janice believes that &ldquo;the meaning we make of an image deepens as we, and our way of making sense of what we see, shifts and changes over our lifespan&rdquo;. She has previously participated in Creative Tauranga&rsquo;s Double Vision exhibition as a writer, and in their Celebration exhibition as an artist. &lsquo;A Brush with Meaning&rsquo;&nbsp;is the first exhibition at the Creative Tauranga Community Gallery for 2011.
