- Michael Joseph Brennan of Tauranga and John Hugo Harmon of Auckland entered into partnership under the name of Mr Brennan and Co, lately occupied by Brennan and Smith. General Merchants. Bay of Plenty Times, 8 July 1879.
- Brennan and Smith sold the Phoenix Bakery and Confectionary business on The Strand to Butt Bros. Bay of Plenty Times, 6 September 1879.
1880:
