1870s
- Road from top of Judea cutting to Ōtūmoetai/Cambridge Road intersection to be formed. Bay of Plenty Times, 18 June 1873.
- Letter from Mr John Snodgrass contractor on the Judea and Wairoa Road, stating that he was unable to carry out his contract. Bay of Plenty Times, 3 December 1878.
- Dr Henry's farm for lease. 210 acres. At present occupied by Messrs Harvey and Kirk. Bay of Plenty Times, 30 December 1879.
1880s
- Demolition of carved church at Ōtūmoetai. This structure has long been one of the sights of the district and its removal may almost be looked upon as a local misforune. - Mrs H.B. Johnstone and son arrived from England and examined their Ōtūmoetai property before taking up residence, probably in Christchurch. Bay of Plenty Times, 31 August 1902.
