SummaryClarke House is a mid-20th-century rural farmhouse constructed by Hector and Undine Clarke on family farmland in Te Puna. Hector Clarke hand-made thousands of concrete blocks to build the house. The Clarke family had settled the land in the late 19th century, on lower terraces below a former pā site overlooking the Wairoa River mouth.
