- Newspaper office attack after Battle at Pukehinahina (Gate Pā). 'Supplementary summary for England and Australia', Daily Southern Cross, 7 June 1864, p. 3.
- Tauranga Argus Volume 1 Number 1 on 1 December 1866. Paper printed and published every Saturday by Walter Isaac Donchaisse, Tauranga.
- Tauranga Argus has now changed hands. Number 1, Volume 1 of Tauranga Record now takes it's place. Printed by Abraham Warbrick on 15 June 1867. Tauranga Record, 13 July 1867.

- Mr Broomfield advises Bay of Plenty Times that he intends to start a daily paper in Tauranga etc. Bay of Plenty Times, 25 October 1881.
- The proprietors of the Evening Post wish to inform the public that they have sold the issue of that paper to Mr James McNaughton. All intending subscribers are requested to apply to him, or the Publishing Office, Harrington Street. H.H. De Bourbel, Manager. Bay of Plenty Times, 29 December 1883.
- We acknowledge receipt of the first number of Te Waka Māori, a small size 'native' paper. It is well printed and we suppose intended to be issued as a monthly record. Bay of Plenty Times, 7 February 1884.
- Death of Elizabeth Kitchen. Her husband published the first Auckland newspaper, in 1842 was connected with the Chronicle. Bay of Plenty Times, 18 December 1884.
