SummaryBuilt on the site of the Second Tauranga Hotel (1872-1936) after it burnt down, the Third Tauranga Hotel was the Art Deco successor. It was a two-storey plaster-finished building with rounded corners, decorative banding, and a small central first-floor balcony. It was fitted with mahogany panelling and formal dining facilities, and it resumed the site’s long-established role as one of Tauranga’s main accommodation and hospitality venues, hosting travellers, long-term guests, and civic and commercial functions.
