By 1889 Blundell had managed the Māori flour mill at Wairoa. October 1889: Agreed to partner with local Māori to build Waimapū Mill, selected site, bBegan production February 1893.

By 1900 the Blundells had moved to Clevedon. By 1905 Arthur was farming at Ōropi. Sarah Blundell later held and developed the Ōropi property as a dairy farm for their sons. Arthur and Sarah travelled to England in 1907. Retired to Auckland. Arthur died at Dunholme Road, Remuera, December 1923.
