Thomas Richard Muir was born in Thames to Robert Henry Muir and Sarah Maude nee Allely (Tauranga family). He married Winifred May Mc. Donald. Following service in the Pacific in WW2 he trained as a teacher and taught at Tauranga Boys’ College until his retirement.
