Date2015 - 2018Collection SummaryIn 2015 local retiree Rodney Giddens began an undertaking to provide a photographic record of shop fronts from the roadside of Tauranga's CBD. Though initially interested in capturing Art Deco buildings, he ended up also photographing other buildings and their areas, including Mount Maunganui. “There is very little artistic merit in the images”, Rodney says, “but I believe a record has been obtained”.System of ArrangementPhotographs are arranged into street series, sometimes appearing in more than one. A "various" series exists for photographs that exist without peers in their street. Series are alphabetical, first Tauranga, then Mount Maunganui.
