The two rail bridges can be seen on either side, and Mauao is prominent in the background. Barely visible is Tūhua Mayor Island in the distance. The site of the present day Port of Tauranga is partially covered in forest. Taken and donated to the Tauranga Library by Rendell, Alfred Hugh 1917-2019, author of "Rendell's Tauranga, Historic Tauranga from above", a well known local photographer as was his father Robert John Rendell 1875-1941 before him.
