    Reference Number1969.0016DescriptionDaguerreotype of Mrs. Susan Nevell, wife of Captain William Nevell, mounted in a wallet or book form. The daguerreotype has a gold matboard and frame and is glazed. The inside of the front cover oposite the daguerreotype is lined with red velvet that has a scroll pattern stamped onto it. The outside is covered in a brown leather, that has a floral pattern with a scrollwork border stamped into the leather. The daguerreotype closes with two fine hooks on one side. At the time of cataloguing the daguerreotype was wrapped in tissue and had a note with it, written in blue ink on a scrap of writing paper, which read: "My Grandmother Mrs. Susan Nevell."
