Built about 1938 in a stripped classical style on the former A.E. Hammond's Timber Yard next to Bagley Drapers. This building, like many of its neighbours, holds up the shopfront verandah using visible iron ties rather than ground-supported posts, allowing an uninterrupted pedestrian frontage along the street.
In 2015 retiree Rodney Giddens undertook to provide a photographic record of shop fronts from the roadside of Tauranga’s CBD. FormatDigitalPhotographer/CreatorGiddens, RodneySourcesVisual check from street 2021.
