- Ams 361/9: Two unsigned watercolours of Tauranga. These were in a brown paper bag. Written on the outside was: ‘Paintings of early Tauranga (Hairini Area) by B. Guthrie. Presented by Mrs Pitt-Butt’. However, painting (a) is of ‘Matakana from Mauao’, and painting (b) is a study of the Greerton racecourse ‘about 1937’.

- Ams 361/11b: Battle of Gate Pā: commemorative programmes, 1964, 1967, and 140th anniversary of the arrival of A. N. Brown and family. Includes memorial address given by E. E. Bush in 1967 for the 103rd anniversary of Gate Pā, and two other typewritten essays by him about the battle entitled ‘A battle with a difference: Gate Pā 1864’ and ‘A battle that has become a legend’. Also includes page from the Weekly News of Wednesday 13 May 1964, with photographs of Gate Pā centenary commemorations.

- Ams 361/46c: Samoa: ‘A short history of the establishment and the work of the first 26 years of Papauta School, Samoa’, hand-written 34-page manuscript by Valesca Schultze, September 1927. Papauta was established as a school for girls under the auspices of the London Missionary Society in 1892. Valesca Schultze, a German-born missionary who had been teaching in Woodford Green, England, was recruited to be its first headmistress. Condition note: damage to edges and outer sheets, but still highly legible, written in blue ink in a bold and fluent hand.
