6th Bn (Hauraki) Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment
To the Colonel, the Officers and other Ranks
Greetings - Whereas the Mayor, Councillors and Citizens of the City of Tauranga being sensible of the honourable record and traditions created by your most distinguished Regiment over many years of loyal and devoted service to our beloved Queen, and Her Royal Predecessors and to our Country and being desirous of recognising, cementing and fostering the intimate association which is now and has for so long been enjoyed between our City and the Regiment in which so many of our sons have been proud to serve. Do By These Presents - confer upon you the title privilege honour and distinction of marching through the streets of the City of Tauranga on all ceremonial occasions with drums beating, band playing, colours flying, bayonets fixed and swords drawn and
Do by These Presents - accept the honour of viewing the Regiment on appropriate occasions for the purpose of an inspection by His Worship the Mayor. and Do By These Presents - accept the further honour of having two officers of the said Regiment in uniform in attendance upon His Worship the Mayor on all important official occasions.
The Common Seal - of the Body Corporate called the Mayor, Councillors and Citizens of the City of Tauranga was hereto affixed pursuant to a resolution of the said Council this 20th day of September 1969 in the presence of:-
