SummaryBorn Tauranga Domain Military Camp, 21 September 1866. Son of George Alfred Crabbe, 1st Waikato Regiment, and baptised by Archdeacon Brown at the Mission Church, The Elms, in 1871. Raised in early military Tauranga, he later managed the Cameron Road General Store founded by his father in 1877. In 1890 he married Rebecca Johnston, daughter of Noble Johnston of Katikati; their children were Violet, Reginald, Selwyn, and Frederick, who died in infancy.
