Reference NumberPhoto 21-1120DescriptionSome of the library's collection consists of negatives that need to be stored at around 2 degrees Celsius with relative humidity at around 35%. Here a Heritage Specialist holds a box not yet ready for cold storage. When ready the negative box will itself be sealed and contain a humidity strip and silica gel pack. Then the whole package will be sealed again within a Sistema box. This arrangement creates a series of micro climates that protect the negatives for generations to come. Taken during 2021 by photographer Penelope Coleman, for the library's celebration of 150 years of libraries in Tauranga, at 3:39 PM (Canon EOS 5D Mark III).
