DateApril 2015DescriptionAs part of Tauranga City Library's 'Threads of Memory' project Shirley Arabin came in to tell library staff about her aunt, Kate Booth (1885-1952), who was a nurse at Aotea Convalescent Home in Heliopolis, Egypt, during World War I.

Kate Booth was born in 1885. Her parents were Alfred and Mary Ann Booth.

During World War I she was stationed at the Aotea Convalescent Home in Heliopolis, near Cairo, Egypt, a privately funded institution. She was Mentioned in Despatches (Mi. D) on 23 October 1918.
