Te Ao Mārama - Tauranga Centennial Celebrations 1982

Deposited with Ngā Taonga. This item is part of the Tauranga Libraries Norman Blackie Collection. Norman Blackie (1899-1993) was a keen amateur filmmaker who captured civic events around Tauranga using a modified Keystone Model A7 16mm camera.

It comprises various city happenings, from motorcross races and art exhibitions to festivals and aerial views of the city. This footage is a compilation of footage by J.B. Kirk, C.R.Thomas and Norman W. Blackie. The footage has been augmented with a soundtrack commentary, though there are some portions where the sound is difficult to hear.
